4) HOW DO YOU READ THE REPORT?

For each route in the list the following items are shown: TRAFFIC which is for a 12 month period ending at the month and year shown (i.e. YE or Year Ended). It is shown for most recent year and prior year. Roundtrip fare is also included which includes average fare AND average ancillary charges like bag fees. POINT OF SALE MIX shows the Resident share for each end of the route. If an Omaha (OMA) - Las Vegas (LAS) route shows OMA 93% LAS 7% it means that only 7% of the passengers on the route are Las Vegas residents with nearly everybody Omaha residents. This is useful for determining which airline has an advantage. If the airline has a hub in LAS, but the route is only 7% point of sale LAS the airline with a greater share of OMA overall passengers (and thus more loyalty in Omaha) would have a better shot of winning this route. MKT SHARE shows for the most recent year the top 3 airlines market share on the O&D, and then the market share for each point of sale.  This is useful to see how loyalty impacts share differently based on residency location.  Average Existing Flights Per Day or Per Week shows data for two dates in the future. Over the month the average number of flights and seats for the two dates are shown.  Flight Details finally shows the mix of aircraft types by airline.
